More fine days

Pops was right - time does seem to fly by quickly. But was I having fun? Yeah, you could say so. At least there are no bad times - not since I came to live with Moms and Pops!

So... let's see if I remember what's been happening since my last post. The big thing was Uncle Matt, Auntie Michelle and Kevin coming over for Father's Day. Uncle Matt is Pops' real son. People call me his son when Uncle Matt is not here. Usually it's when I do something bad, and Moms says, "You know what YOUR son did?" The other day, Pops said to Moms, "You better not say that in front of Matt!"

I like Uncle Matt. He's the only guy who plays with me the way huskies like to play - rough! That's 'cause Uncle Matt is a soldier. He's a captain in the U.S. Army and flies helicopters! How cool is that?!

He's not a bad chef either. He cooked steaks on the barbie for Pops. They both love their red meat. I should say, we all love our red meat. Only the girls - Moms and Michelle - like chicken better. Trina Jieh-jieh is cool though. She likes meat too. Mmmm-m-m... it was GOOD! Moms made a fresh strawberry pie that everyone went ga-ga over, but it's all just fruit to me. Only good thing about it is that it's red... like meat. MEAT!

Today Pops took me to run around Stowe Lake - up Strawberry Hill. Bet you didn't even know it was called that, did you? We started out for the Headlands, with Pops' bike and all, but then he remembered he had a dental appointment so we did the Stowe Lake thing instead. Then, when we got home, he realized he had the weeks mixed up and didn't have no appointment after all! Hiyah!

Anyway, it was fun. There were lots of squirrels and gophers and scents left by other dogs for me to sniff at. Pops says sniffing is good for developing intelligence, cause the brain has to process all that data that the nose aquires. Well, them's his words, but I think I get the drift. There were all sorts of pretty flowers too. Pops brought his new point-and-shoot and took a bunch of pictures. He liked the stone bridge. Said something about 19th Century Romanticism and him being born into the wrong time... Huh, wha...?
